The Specs
Growing up, Kathy had no attention span for sitting down and watching hockey games, preferring to go out and play hockey instead.  But one night in 1998, in an attempt to fall asleep at her grandmother’s house, she turned on the radio and the Canadiens were playing the Lightning.  Though wins were hard to come by in that era, they beat them handily that night, and it didn’t exactly do good things for Kathy’s sleep habits.  Fourteen years later, she has worked for a junior hockey squad and currently works in communications, as well as keeping her post as Associate Editor at All Habs.
The Essentials
You will almost never find her rooting for the same people everyone else does.  The same mentality applies to entire teams (Phoenix Coyotes, anyone?) and the players that are her favourites tend to be the ones no one has ever heard of, however, eventually they do become fan favourites.  She became a Tomas Plekanec fan the year he was drafted, eleven years ago (he still had the turtleneck, but no goatee yet) which in some part explains her username.  She became hockey-starved during the lockout to the point where its return led to the QMJHL-obsessed, Alaska Aces-following version of herself that people know today (because everybody needs a backup plan, right?  Or ten).
What you must know
In high school she was more commonly known as that tomboy geek in the back of math class highlighting her raggedy-old copy of The Hockey News Yearbook for days. She doesn’t wear the grey oversized Canadiens’ hoodies anymore, but she is still that geek. Kathy is known for designing and creating her own hockey t-shirts. She only knows about three words in Czech because her pocket Czech phrase book went missing a long time ago.  Cesi do toho! Her family owns a hyperactive, territorial Westie called Perogy. She doesn’t eat huge portions of anything except pasta and frozen yogurt (preferably not at them same time).
What you probably didn’t know
Learned to read at the age of three.  Wreaked a bit of havoc as a young proofreader and took the blame when students’ spelling mistakes mysteriously disappeared. Tampa Bay Lightning assistant coach Martin Raymond was her gym teacher before becoming head coach of the McGill Redmen (and attempted somewhat in vain to teach her eight-year-old self the meaning of offside). She is a former champion and finalist of the Champlain College Midnight Madness Cosom Hockey Tournament.
